Drawing on mugs?

I saw this on pinterest. You get a plain white mug. Sharpies and write or make a design then bake the mug for 20 minutes in the oven. I have never heard of this and think of trying it for christmas gifts.

OH you should try it. It's going to be pretty. I have drawn a lot on my mugs using sharpies and I didn't bake them at all.
