Croupy babies

Everyone wishes me a good rest. Hah. Best laid plans. Sally dear pup woke me, snuggling close against me. Usually she sleeps at the bottom of the bed, dreaming about playing ball. Then I woke further not long after- maybe 2 am. Sally was sick. Royally sick. She vomited and vomited. Just like a human baby. I got up and toweled up the mess- sorry for the detail there. I put her outside. Pretty soon she started barking so I let her back in. That scenario went on for over an hour. I'm not sure what she got into. Something has upset her stomach for sure. This morning she is not totally back to normal but is settling down. She wanted to play ball at one point. And I'm ready for restful sleep. At least I managed to drive hubby to work and me home in one piece.

I'm sorry Sally pup was sick during the night. I know how stressful that can be. I'm glad she's doing better. It's a good sign when she wants to play ball. I'm glad you got your hubby to work and you home. I'm sure you were tired.

@just4him Its good to hear from you. Sally acted hungry when I was starting this week's bread batch so I gave her a little plain boiled potato. That sounds funny but I'm thinking bland food would be best to start. No salt, no nothing. Just bland and easy to go down. Yes, I am quite tired.

@sallypup I hope it did the trick on her stomach.

@just4him She's kept the potato down and even ate a little regular kibble. She's sleepier than usual but I am the same way when I am coming out of illness.

Poor baby hope Sally feel much better soon. My cat Sid vomits now and then due to his long fur and gets out long nasty hairballs. You should hear him when its time to do this. Suddenly he hits the high notes just like Pavarotti and then YUCk

@RasmaSandra Oh poor Sid. We had a girl kitty who practically scream screeched when she had hair ball issues. Drove my hubby nuts.

What a night. You might as well have babies as pets.

@JudyEv Sally is eight now. We've raised her from a pup. It physically hurts us when she is sick. She knew that if she came to me in the night I would eventually feel her distress and do my best to help.

I'm believing that our dogs get little 24 hour bugs, just like we do. Kobe has vomited a few times and then 1/2 day later, he's perfectly fine! Hopefully, it's nothing more than this, with Sally!:)

@kobesbuddy Sally seems more peaceful today than last night. Generally it seems to me that a restless pooch has a belly ache. Poor Kobe.

@sallypup No, Kobe is just fine. That happened way back, in June.

Harley does that sometimes she gets into something who knows what and then it's all over the bed couch and the floor

@thislittlepennyearns Its so hard to know when to get a pooch into the Vet- its over 50 dollars for us to walk into the clinic.

Poor pup. I hope she's ok. Maybe got into something bad to eat?

@FayeHazel Thanks. This morning she's back to trotting instead of walking. Must have been something awful that she got into.

@FayeHazel Me, too. I just can't run to the Vet every time a dog is kind of wonky. Got to save the dollars for the emergencies. Its terribly hard to figure an illness from a disaster at times.
