Another social experiment, where a guy pretends to be asleep and leaves his phone unguarded beside him. There are tons of thieves who take advantage and when they manage to get it, the owner electric shocks the phone so they get shocked? I think they should just arrest those thieves!
I was SHOCKED there were that many thieves 😂

Quite incredible. I would never have thought that so many people would rob this phone.

@lady1993 I suppose it depends of the neighborhood, but I cannot imagine that in my city. In some suburbs of Paris, maybe.

It is similar to the Bait Car experiments. Some cops dress like citizens, abandon a car open, pretending they have an argument. Some people come over and start sniffing around the car, start driving it and get locked inside, they get arrested. I wish to see how people in my country would react to that trick. I would call the police and tell about the car that was left alone. I would start asking people around "who is this car belongs to ?" The police would not have a choice but to take the car and try somewhere else.

@lady1993 How do you know that for sure ? Maybe in some areas in the Philipines it will not happen at all. In my neighborhood, I see philipinians, most of them work in taking care of elders, they do shopping for them, they give them a bath, feed them, take them with the weelchairs. But, who knows, it's hard to tell what anyone will do when seeing a car left open and alone.

I have seen how the thieves steal the phones, no need to have the guy sleeping, while they talk, they come near running and grab the phone.

Do they do that in Switzerland?

@TheHorse No, here the police is efficient, they are well paid and they do their job. In Italy they are underpaid, they are not enough and there are too many crimes to consider "stealing a phone" something to take care of.

Interesting to me that some people in Europe were surprised by how common this kind of thing is in the US.

I'm not sure what I think about this. It is a shame there are so many willing to steal it.

Serves them right, but at the same time why weren't these guys also arrested for getting caught doing something like this, or what will it take to really stop them?

I saw that also in some video posted on social media where the phone is left behind at the the back of the car with open window. As the driver leave the car, acting like buying something in the store, so many thieves attempt to drag out the phone. Until you saw they are being shocked, cause the phone is releasing high voltage that they are really unable to pull out. Funny, some tried to get it utmost three times while shouting bad words hahahaha

The problem with just arresting them is the thief would only get charged with petty theft and at most spend a few days in jail with the tax payers supporting them. Many, when they get out of jail, are heroes to their friends because they were arrested. Even with getting shocked most of the potential thieves will think it's hilarious that they got shocked. Basic values are no longer being instilled in our youth, so they grow up thinking stealing is perfectly acceptable behavior.

I have found money several times on road. Last time it was in October or November I think. I picked the coin and gave it to the watchman. He was so grateful. I was kind of, whosoever's coin it is, will not spend 10 bucks to search 5 bucks. So it needs to be picked up and better it reaches somebody who needs it.
