Dark side Christmas Cookies

I was reading a post by @snowy22315, and she wrote about some delicious cookies she was going to make for Christmas. This reminded me of the cookies my My-mother-in-law sent every Christmas, and they were so delicious. I'm not a greedy person, and would share everything with my family, but these cookies brought out the dark side in me, and I always ate more than my fair share. I picture myself hiding in the closet stuffing my face, uttering "my precious" over and over again. I really didn't go that far, but I was very close. What brings out your dark side? Picture is from pixabay.

@marlina those Lindt chocolates are my daughters favorite and I usually put the white chocolate ones in her stocking. By now it's not much of a surprise but it's a treat she doesn't get the rest of the year.

They're very good, I could see stashing those away until everyone is out of the house.

Ferrero Rocher chocolate. I can be quite stingy when it comes to them.

@misunderstood_zombie Yeah they're quite expensive here too. I don't buy them often so that's why when I do I really treasure them!

I happen to like Pfefferneuse cookies which are only sold around Christmas time so I keep them hidden so I don't have to share. What kind of cookies did your mother-in-law make that brought you to the dark side?

I've never heard of those, in the picture they look a little like wedding cookies, but it states there's German spice, so I guess it's completely different.

lol! hmm... I have to think on this one! I use to hide and drink ovaltine when my kids were sleeping! at the time my then youngest was allergic to milk and it felt so wrong to drink it and not share it!

I've never had ovaltine, I've always wondered what it tasted like, I assume chocolate milk. You only drank it all for the sake of your children.

Oh now that made me laugh. Some cookies are 'precious' and you don't want to share them with anyone. From what my kids tell me, it's blueberries. They told me on Thanksgiving that I wouldn't let them have blueberries growing up, because I ate them. Shame on me. They told me that because I gave them a blueberry pie for Thanksgiving that my younger son took home with him.

At least, you picked a healthy food. It sounds like you made up for the blueberries by making them a pie.

@just4him That's the kind of pie I always get also. I made a chocolate chip pie one time, but it was so rich, a little piece was all most people could handle.
