Jim Nabors singer, actor and entertainer for many years. I saw him perform on The Danny Kaye Show in 1964 and he went on to sing in many places including The Indy 500 where his last performance was in 2014. Jim Nabors was priceless in the role Gomer Pyle and he wasn't on the show until the 3rd season and was only signed to one episode; however, was so popular with fans was on for 23 episodes. The Andy Griffith Show was on 4 seasons. Gomer Pyle USMC aired 1964-69. Next a variety show The Jim Nabors Hour 2 seasons. His 1980 album went platinum The Heart Touching Magic Of Jim Nabors. Sadly, he passed at 87 in Hawaii. I'll miss him rest in peace. I'll be listening to your music for years to come and own The Andy Griffith Show. Did you see him on television or listen to him sing?

It's sad when our popular celebrities pass away. I always loved Danny Kaye too.

George Lindsey passed in 2012. Its hard seeing the people I have enjoyed watching in movies and television shows pass. Years ago there wasn't all the retakes, so you had to be good the first time. Today I enjoy watching many of the older shows and recorded some of them and others purchased, so I don't have to turn 100's of channels and find nothing to watch.

@Fishmomma It is a reminder as to our own advancing age. We aren't kids watching those shows anymore.

It was crazy that such a goofy character had such a good voice.

I didn't know he had a variety show! I will have to ask my dad if he knew that.

I saw him on Andy Griffith. Hard to believe that show only ran 4 seasons and still is remembered today!
