I didn't know he was still alive!

Good old Gomer Pyle has gone on to where ever good guys go. He seemed to be an honest, down to earth person, not one of those stars who drug and drink. I also loved Jim Nabor's ability to carry a tune. Very soulful. He did live to be eighty nine so he had a good enough, long set of years. Still, its hard to see the decent actors go.

He had been living in quiet retirement in Hawaii.

I never liked his characters, but he had an incredible singing voice.

I never did like his singing, but he did create a memorable, but corny character.

I know he was very popular in the States. I'm pretty sure Gomer Pyle was playing on our TVs but we didn't have TV at that time.

Yes, he was one of the few, who kept his act clean. We all respected his choice of a normal, family life.

@kobesbuddy Interesting cause some folks would say he was not having a "normal" family life cause he was gay. To me, he loved somebody and that is all I care about.

@sallypup I had no idea Jim was gay, he always acted like a fine, respectable man on TV. Normal, I'm not sure what that means any more.

@kobesbuddy From what I read the poor guy loved someone for years before they married. Society is so cruel to gay people.
