I have worked with someone who said they wanted to quit Gambling for several months now but it is time to let go. I haven't given up on the fellow but he has given up on himself. Over the months he has insulted and degraded me at times only to apologize later. A few days ago it started again and this time it was not very sincere when he apologized. There is a point where you have to let go. At what point would you let go of a person who waffled continually?

I had a childhood friend who has been addicted to heroin for ages. It grew tiredome hearing how she kept planning on quitting but would then relapse and have an excuse. I would say dont give up on your friend. An addiction is a lonely place to be. Be there for him.
