Once again I began the evening “soft” then went rougher. “A Very Merry Toy Store” is a Lifetime Channel Christmas movie that was a cut below Hallmark quality. The movie starred Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez as rival store owners but there was chemistry between the two. “Split” is an M. Night Shyamalan film (he did “The Sixth Sense” and “Signs”) and concerns a man with a DID condition of 23 multiple split personalities who kidnaps and imprisons three teenage girls. It’s meant to be a psychological thriller but like most Shyamalan films, it falls short and nonsensical. James McAvoy does give a fine performance flipping through the personalties and look for Bruce Willis in a cameo as the character he played in Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable.” “Sugar Mountain” is an Alaskan mountain and this odd sort of crime thriller was filed on location in Seward, Alaska. Sort of interesting. How did Thursday treat you in the entertainment department?

My mother and I watched "It's a Wonderful Life" last night. Other than that, I didn't see anything special. I've been rewatching "Dexter." I know. Very Christmassy, heh heh. We'll probably watch a Hallmark Christmas movie at some point today.
