When we had the more-than-5-minutes power interruption a few days ago, our living room was so dark but there was illumination from the colored lights in the Christmas tree fixed by my sister. You see, the tree is already < than 2 decades old, and it is losing some of the evergreen leaves, but my sister made it look full of leaves. She also placed the 4 small decorations of Santa Claus.
The colored lights are actually solar lights. I asked my sister how it will collect solar power when it is inside the house. My sister said, surely it will because our LED bulbs in the living room are switched on. Of course there are 2 AA batteries as well, in the box that is directed towards the LED bulb.
The lights don’t twinkle; they are steady. But because of those tiny lights, I believe it is already showing the spirit of Christmas.
For sure your trees are up, am I right?

even just a Christmas lantern, i think that is enough to show that the spirit of Christmas lives in your home

@ridingbet I also use rechargeable batteries, I buy them from Ikea, they are inexpensive and those I use outside for the garden lamps are lasting from several years.

@LadyDuck really? that is great. my sister would always recharge the batteries during daytime because they are already drained out for the night.

the light from the LED bulb added to the brightness of the light. the batteries that we use are all rechargeable and are already months to years old. we don't buy new rechargeable batteries.

@ridingbet Complicated story. Yes, it was their fault, they asked us to point out all the power points in the house that got affected (two years ago) so that they could fix it. We missed this one .

that was how the tree looked like when the power got interrupted for several minutes. the picture on the left was taken with light of the camera flashed.
at first, i took the shot at the right, and when only the color lights appeared, i switched the flash of the camera; hence, the picture at the left.

a house without a Christmas tree is dull, but a tree without lights is still a Christmas tree. maybe your tree has many ornaments, right?
