Favorite "Real People" Songs #10 - "James Brown is Dead"

I, personally, am going to have a lot of fun with this particular music countdown, a series of my favorite songs with real people's names in the title. We begin, as always, at #10: "James Brown is Dead" by L.A. Style. From Dutch techno duo L.A. Style's 1991 self-titled debut album, "James Brown is Dead" is a techno classic, right up there with Apotheosis' "O Fortuna" and the Lords of Acid's "I Sit on Acid," to name a couple (yeah, I've owned both.) Recorded while the Godfather of Soul was very much alive, "James Brown is Dead" was a perfect dance tune for the ecstasy-fueled rave crowd, and as such, was a smash European hit, reaching #1 in Belgium, The Netherlands, and Spain, while achieving Top 10 status in five other Euro countries. (It even hit #59 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #4 on that magazine's Hot Dance Club Songs chart.) The energetic dance tune spawned multiple copycat songs, including "Helmut Kohl ist Tote" by Kranz (which I owned on an old techno compilation.)
