TheSims4 set at high resolution and high everything caused the image to distort.

Image distortion in The Sims 4 during game play mode, set at top story in build mode created a sudden distortion of the image and a blank screen. When it cleared up then did the same thing a second time I figured it was time to revert my game settings from high resolution to medium. I did the reset to medium and went from that point to a few minutes of game play and there were no more instances of image breakup or blank screen. Is it caused by too much processing for the graphics card or having the refresh rate set incorrectly? I just don't have any answers at this time. Help if you can. I ran a complete diagnostic and the system is okay. Have you ever had image corruption during gaming from setting graphics resolution in game play to too high a setting? If this was the case, was your solution to it, to reduce graphics quality settings to either default or lower resolution to get it working right again? If this is due to the graphics card not being able to handle too many details or just something altogether different, I am interested in your feedback on this topic when you get the chance. Thank you in advance.

From my experience I would say that is what it is. I have had problems with mine when set to high. My son-in-law told me a need a better graphic card Don't have the money so yep went down to medium and works.

@lookatdesktop I don't know would setting to Full Screen Mode do anything with the graphic card output? I have never got to play this but so want to now that you can build levels!

@Ithink , What I mean by building levels, is the structures you build can have many stories, or levels, as well as a few basement levels below ground. This adds more to the potential. You can have a Sim place several computers and desks on one level and if visitors to the Sims's lot come over to hang out, they may tend to go to the computers to pass the time or swim if there is a pool or even read books if there are enough comfortable sofas or chairs to sit on. It is interesting to see how far an environment can go to how many other Sims interact within them.

I guess that is why mine has impaired function at the high setting. I was in build mode and set the view to the top floor but was constructing walls on all four levels from the top level setting. Does this make any sense? Also, I was in Full Screen Mode.

Maybe I overtaxed my graphics card. That could be. So I am using medium graphics and it seems to be running well now.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I don't play the evil hand in the game, but have run across some evil ones at times and walk on by. I don't like those sims that steal my sim's paintings at all. That is s definite no no. I do not take pleasure in putting sims in a room and remove the door so they all die. It is just not me. I play the good Sim. LOL
