What are you having for breakfast on this beautiful Saturday morning?

I finally made it to Trader Joe's last night and scored some Brie and lox, along with my usual staples. So this morning, I'm just grazing. So far, I had a slice of lox (no bagel) and a slice of Brie (no crackers). Of course, I'm enjoying my coffee. After I get a couple more progress notes done, I'll probably make a smoothie with my NEW BLENDER. I have bananas, strawberries, yogurt, milk, ice cream, cranberry juice, and ice ready to go. What are you having for breakfast on this lovely day? Or, for those of you who are East of California, what DID you have?

I had toast and then half a ham and cheese sandwich. Nothing exciting here. Huzzah! You get to use your new blender!

@thislittlepennyearns I'm gonna start slicing bananas soon. I've discovered that things go best if I put the ice in last.

A boring egg sandwich, I don`t really do breakfast but I needed the meds this morning and I have to eat with them ( metformin to manage diabetes and I was very bad and had Chinese food for dinner last night)

Chinese food sounds good, though it may not be the healthiest thing for diabetes.

I as at WalMart the other day with a kid client. I was looking for Rice Chex for me (I'm tired of corn flakes), but found only Wheat Chex, which I never liked as much. I passed.

Nice. The smoothie sounds super awesome. Enjoy. I keep meaning to make it to a Trader Joes but they are all pretty far from me.

I do like that store. Their frozen Indian food is pretty good. And I like the fact that I can buy a small quantity of lox there.

@TheHorse I am big on indian food so I will check it out if I go. Do you find many good deals there?

@maezee I find the prices to be reasonable in general. A frozen Indian meal costs about $3.50.

Heh heh. Life is good. I actually used a "file photo" here from a few months ago. But I enjoyed my lox and Brie. I feel so cultured.

@TheHorse I know you told me what 'lox' was some moons ago but I'd forgotten. We'd call it 'smoked salmon'. It's yummy, isn't it?

@TheHorse I made mine from scratch with some ground beef, two cut up tomatoes, some paprika, a bit of water and beef bouillon cube and some tomato paste to thicken. Then put it on to simmer till all the flavors mix together. Oh, yes I add crushed garlic as well.

I had my usual unusual breakfast this time a chicken casserole i made a few days ago. It was pieces of a rotisserie chicken and add it to a cream of chicken soup adding cooked pasta and canned peas and carrots and added mozzarella cheese on top that was melted! Yummy! I will be having a grilled cheese for lunch in case you wondered!

@TheHorse I changed my mind at the last minute and had the rest of my chicken casserole! i had just half a container left so i ate it as it will get bad as i made it Wednesday, so the chicken part does not have too much left before it spoils!

Coffee and yard eggs for breakfast. And lunch was a piece of gluten-free pizza that my daughter made last night. In reality, it was pizza toppings on what was essentially falafel; delicious!

Heh, I like falafel. I assume yard eggs are eggs provided by your beloved chickens, and not poisonous mushrooms or road apples or something.

@TheHorse you got it. I specify since yard eggs are much tastier than the grocery store variety.

I don’t eat breakfast on the weekends. I know, I know. My brunch was a huge chicken taco salad (I just finished while I’m sitting here, enjoying white chocolate obsession tea for dessert).

I like Taco salads! Hey, did you comment yet on my grumpy post about the acquittal of that repeat offender who killed a woman in SF? I thought of you as I was writing it. I'm a "Liberal," but this story taxed my patience.

I had a Greek beef gyro with home fries, an omelette, pancake with jam and coffee. I'm going to get some lox at the deli soon. I love Brie - the rind is yummy good.
