Our "family" 'Christmas party". And it was not good again.. but whatever.. not my idea for it . It's also National Fritters Day. Never seen a fritter at resturants.. so never had them. National Mutt Day. No mutts here. And no idea why they have two days (today and July 31st) but okay. Special Education Day. This is definitely a good day. Skywarn Recognition Day. First Saturday in December.. not a radio operator or anything like that so not my day. But its good they are recognized. National Rhubarb Vodka Day. First Saturday in December.. not a drinker so don't care.

Sorry that you didn't have a good time at the party. I don't think that I've ever had a fritter.

I've been known to imbibe on occasion, but Rhubarb Vodka? Think I'll pass.

Not sure if different parts of the country have different kinds of fritters, but down here in the south, corn fritters are very popular. And here in Florida, conch fritters are also popular.

Its too bad that the party didn't go over well. My husband's family gathers 2 weeks from today, and I'm so excited for it. I love a mutt, we've had a couple over the years.

My mother loved having strawberry rhubarb pie. I never had it though. But as a drink, how odd? The other days are flat out weird. My mother taught special education. Bummer on that party.

Some of these days make a lot of sense, like the Special Education Day, but National Rhubarb Vodka Day, not so much. Sorry about the party, I don't think anyone's family Christmas parties work out as well as people hoped for.
