Happy Sunday in this part of the globe. The 3 of us are going to church to attend the 9:30am mass. I am excited to go on training tomorrow that I brought out this scrub suit that I will wear in the special ward. The suit is given to me by my big brother. Scrub suits should be loose. The suit is big for me. I will have ease and comfort when I will be taking care of patients. I can't wait for Monday.

@ridingbet Yes, that could be the reasons indeed.

i think that is why those are called scrubs, or scrub suits, is because they are used mainly in operating theaters, emergency rooms, where the person using that is always washing her hands, or if in the operating room, scrubs her hands to keep it nearly sterile and free from germs. also, it is colored not white, but in other colors.

i love the color. i know a nurse who asked her mother to have her scrubs sewn here (since material and labor are cheaper here) so she can take it with her when she flies back after her vacation/visit. when she showed it to me, i couldn't understand why she was disappointed. she said the top is quite big, but that's okay. the pants, however, was more like for office wear and should have been looser since she has to squat sometimes.

@ridingbet but wouldn't garterized be easier and faster to put on and off?

@hereandthere if it is garterized, it is like the pajama already. the lower scrub suit should be with a tie (nakatali). besides, if it is garterized and the surgeon's hem is accidentally stepped on by another person, the pants will fall and drop down.

the scrub suit, for some, are tight and body hugging, but if the scrub suit is for operating room use only, it should be loose. as for the pants, it is like a pajama, and should be tied not garterized.

I wish you success on your training. Additional knowledge often mean better compensation in terms of salary.

thank you, but unfortunately, there is no salary increase for us because apparently, 'i am just a part-time clinical instructor'. i am still waiting for the result of the talk between our dean and the president of the school as regards our salary increase.
