Fair-skinned Nelly

One of my Mom's Ball Jointed Dolls, Fair Skinned Nelly

This is one of my mother's dolls. For the last few years she was very much into these types of dolls called "Ball Jointed Dolls", or "BJDs". My mother was into them, and while I supported her and her making clothes for them (which she did very well on ebay) I have no attatchment to them, and I would prefer they went to "a good home". I have been asking on the BJD forum about identifying the dolls (I only knew two of them to look at them, Koneko and Maurice) and what prices I should put them up for. Nelly's creator, Kaye Wiggs, who is also on the forum, said that Fair Skinned Nelly may go for about $700 US.

@sharon6345 The doll artist is named Kaye Wiggs, if you want to look her up.

I am surprise at the large amount collectors are willing to pay.

It's not what it's made of, it's the type of doll it is, and possibly the popularity of the artist.

@lady1993 LOL--yes, I guess so -- though the artist's name is Kaye Wiggs and she lives in Australia, not Italy. :D

Collectors don't usually care much about the money as long as they get what they want, they're very willing to pay a very expensive price.

I didn't know newer dolls would go for that much. Good luck.
