Found a group on FB

I just found a group on FB calIed the Zipper Club. It is people and their families who have been through heart surgery. Its feels good to talk to people who have been through what I have. I no longer feel all alone. Physically I am doing good but mentally it is a struggle. I am so thankful to be a part of that group.

Support groups are a great help in overcoming the psychological barriers one may find themselves in after a traumatic experience. Judging from the group's name, "the Zipper Club", they have a sense of humor.

That is good. Oneof my friends who had heart surgery found a support group also on Facebook that she has said helps a lot. I wish I could remember the name of it.

I worry about it happening again and not making it the next time. I worry about every pain and ache I have in my chest which at one time would never have given a second thought. I feel I have changed from the person that I use to be before the heart attack and surgery. There is a lot of thoughts that go on in my mind.

I am glad you found that group. Mended Hearts is another one. I had heart surgery as a child and went to a few of their events. It was so long ago for me though now..except for having a scar it really doesn't have an impact on my life.

@Happy2BeMe I found a group there about Jewish pet owners. I go to that at time. I am not on facebook very much these days. I go in and check messages and other things and go into that group. I like it because it is people that can relate to those that have pets and have them themselves.

I also have a support group on Facebook who I can talk to and help share awareness. It is far better than being alone in this case.

Facebook can be wonderful for groups, I also found a few that are on my condition and yes talking to people that have the same condition is so nice! Glad you found them.
