Hollie and Hazel

December 3, 2017 1:35pm CST
I am hoping to learn lots about this community, but in order to do so I must tell you a little about me. Here are the two gorgeous bunny rabbits that live with us. Me and my sister bought them for my mother a few years ago as a birthday present. Don’t worry, we are responsible owners – we have had rabbits in the past. Meet Hollie and Hazel. They are the most beautiful girls we have had, though our previous rabbits were both boys! They cannot live together as Hollie (the grey) chases Hazel a lot, and it was getting too much for her. We decided to keep them apart, and now they are much happier! They sleep on their own in their own large hutches, and during the day they have freedom in the garden, but are again kept apart with wire meshing. It is not nice having to do it, but they are both happier, and they can still sniff and lick one another if they are both pressed up against the mesh. I am sure you will agree that these are very cute bunnies. I have read about lots of pets on here, though mainly cats and dogs, so I thought a pair of cute bunnies would make everyone smile.

I love rabbits. We had one that lived in our house and she loved to help with DIY. She used the kitty litter with the cats. She also loved running around the garden bt sometimes she was hard to catch.

Thanks Sue. Yes we had a lop that grew very large but was that well trained that I used to lift him from his hutch, he would run halfway around the garden, up 4 steps and then jump into his run so I just had to close the lid! Rabbits can be trained for sure.

Did you know that your mother would be pleased about the present?

Yes, she was grateful. She didn't want to get any more, but when we bought them she was glad the decision was taken out of her hands! I help her and do roughly half of the work that we need to each day.

They are cute. It's odd that they can't get along. I had a couple of goldfish when I was younger and one would constantly harass and chase the other one. In the end I had to get another tank.

They are just like some kids in a family that cannot get along. Hopefully when they get older, they will learn to love each other.

It is so sad looking back on this posting as they have both passed away and seeing their cute faces brings me some comfort.
