Saving money is a virtue. We start learning the value and importance of saving money when we were still a child by saving or putting coins in a piggy bank. Yes our parents are right in saying that we must always learn how to save for the rainy days. Do you still put or save coins in a piggy bank? or put a rolled bill inside a piggy bank? Are you spending more than you are earning? Picture credit: thesun.co.uk

Thrifty is a virtue. To save money is an act of being thrifty. Sorry, I am confused that to save money is a virtue.

@dodoazo To save money is a virtue in its practical sense since not everyone is saving money--simple as that. I'm not using the word or term "virtue" here not in its religious sense my friend but in its plain and ordinary meaning and within the context of my entire post. It is not my intention in my post to engage in a semantic or hair-splitting philosophic distinction.I'm sorry that you are confuse my friend.

@mandala100 It is okay as long as the point here is to be frugal for rainy days. Don't worry. It is alright for me.

Never put a rolled bill inside a piggy bank: too difficult to retrieve. I save more than I spend, always been careful with my money.

@mandala100 I know, I just kind of miss having a childish piggy bank

Sort of. I give my pennies and nickels to my 14 yr old and she saves them in a bank. I gave both my kids a $1 yesterday. It's not much but it made them happy especially as I spent money on them Saturday and Sunday

I have a piggy bank that I drop my $1 and $2 coins into. It adds up. When my father was in hospital I emptied my piggy bank for parking. Those collected coins fed a lot of parking meters.

I do not recall putting money in a piggy bank when I was a kid. There are days I do not spend anything and days I spend a lot.
