Foggy Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! What a foggy start to this Monday. It's so foggy it's eerie and looks more like Halloween than anything that resembles Christmas. It would be the perfect setting for a horror movie. I had a busy weekend and now I'm just trying to get some things done around the house and of course catch up a bit here on myLot. I'm starting to feel the pressure with the holidays rapidly approaching even though it's only the 4th of the month. I've made two lists for shopping. One for ingredients for the cookie baking I want to do and the other for the food we'll need for our Christmas dinner buffet. I'm so tempted to have the food delivered through Peapod rather than try to do a huge shopping with lots of heavy items and all the lugging it involves from the store to the car and then from the car into the house. It would be so worth the money to pay for delivery even though I've never done it before. As for my shopping, all the grandkids are done and it was a wide variety of items since they are all different ages and into different things. For the older ones they are always happy with a gift card. Now the adults are the next thing on my list and I'll probably go with the gift card thing for them too. So that's what's going on in my life....what's new and exciting with you?

We started with a bit of frost fog this morning. I find that there are just enough people using the grocery shopping and delivery service that the aisles are just a little less congested and more manageable. So I still trudge my way out to hand pick what we'll consume. I feel it best. I have to pick up some dates this week to make date squares with. Hopefully that will finish my baking ingredient list.

I've finished my Christmas cards so that's a good start for me. And I have a list of 'things still to do' and 'things still to buy'.

Oh how I would love such a foggy morning - we hardly get fog anymore here. It's just super windy today - sunny but cold and dry - I'm not liking it. I'm feeling the pressure too . . . the kids are out of school end of next week, so I need to get most of my shopping done by then, I hope. Our neighbor seems to get food delivered - we see the trucks. He has a severe limp, so I'm sure he's finding it very convenient to get food delivered right to his doorstep!

Sounds like you are doing pretty good on the Christmas planning. I only have one thing bought. I am starting to get anxiety over getting everything done as well and it’s still fairly early. I plan to start Christmas shopping online tonight.

Absolutely nothing. We had a light blanket of snow today. Your mention of fog reminded me of those old movies of thick fog in London.

We are looking for a vacation in January, I hope we find one we want, Christmas is planned and we know what we are giving the kids, Our gift to each other will be the vacation. Yesterday it was so foggy when I got up I couldn't see the moon...

No fog here. I went for a walk this morning (getting into my routine again) then came home and baked muffins to accompany our mid morning coffee. Christmas shopping is not really going to happen. We all have too much stuff already.
