G'day, Mates!

For the best of five days, I have been listening to my Australian friend talk. We have roughly 40 hours left in the same place, before she's on her way to the airport to go back to Australia. I must say that I am exhausted, but I will share details later. This week was for her to be able to put some closure with some things in her life. I hope all is well, and I will catch up with everyone when I have her back on the flight to Adelaide.

Do you feel as if you picked up any of her manners of speaking? Sounds as if it was a good visit.

Is she an over talker? We all have one of those in our lives.

I love an Australian accent but I once dated a lady from Scotland and trying to figure out what she was saying drove me nuts.

It sounds like you had a pleasant time with your friend. Surely having guests for several days is exhausting.

For someone who grew up with American English, I find it a bit difficult when listening to Australians speak. Did you have the same problem?
