'My Hobby is Rock Collecting'

The other day, one of our My Lot friends asked what I collected, for a hobby. At first I had to really think about it.There are two things that I really love, but didn't consider either one of them, as a hobby. Number one, I have about twenty things in our home, that display teddy bears. There's just something special about those adorable characters, I really admire them. Second in line, I've always collected various sizes and shapes of rocks. Some of them are quite small, while most of them are very large and we used them to encompass four flower beds. The photo is mine, I took it about ten minutes ago, specifically for this discussion.

A lot of people like to collect the rocks. It's a nice hobby as you can put them around a tree, or around a garden.

That's basically what I use them for, to decorate the flower beds. My mother did the same thing, years back. Kris my daughter-in-law put these rocks around my flower beds, she made it look a lot better.

Those sound like fun hobbies, especially the rocks since you never know if a rock might actually be quartz or something like that.

They can be rearranged, at any time. So, it's easy to decorate with rocks.

I'm a Dolphin and Wolf collector @kobesbuddy however; on my property, I have come across some Indian spearheads and a lot of petrified wood. Oh and some rocks with shell imprints. I donated the Indian spearheads to the local museum.

Indian spearheads, that's definitely an old relic! We had a boy in school, who brought some to show our class. I love dolphins, for sure!

You will love me for sure. I love what are common rocks when I travel. I brought back red rocks from Missouri when I visited my Mom years ago- yup- my suitcase had rocks in it. Not sure what the airline folks thought. Here we deal with boulders when we garden.

@sallypup Most of my rocks are small enough to pick up. Then, I can decorate and redo them a different way.

I'm so glad that you included a picture of some of your rocks. We lined almost every flower bed we had with rocks. They look so nice and the shapes and colours amaze me. Here's the last of the rocks that we used up when we planted that tree.

When I was young, whenever I went to the beach, I always brought home rocks and shells from there. But I lost all of them now.

I do rocks too! I have a few that look like hearts even. My daughter loves rocks, I think we got it handed down to us from my side of the family. I also have old tea sets, just a few of them. What do you think it is about rocks? hmmm

They never change, they're virtually indestructible, strong, they never wear out! Plus, they really dress up a yard, nicely!

How often do you have to water those rocks and do you have to take them in during the Winter to keep from freezing. Becky said I should have a rock garden too, but I don't know what kind of fertilizer to use.
