I've been thinking about if I was to win some BIG $ just what would I do with it I thought about getting some open land & do our thing on it (sounded good) Then I got to thinking about just staying here & buying the neighborhood out. Well I've just seen what I think I would like to do with my money if I was to win BUT then again if something happen to hubby it would be JUST ME hum? so with that said I do love the water & love fishing & not having a lot to do. I also like the idea of living off the grid, BUT I'm not a smart person if 4-say something should need fixing or replaced or hooked up what then do I do? SO I'd get me a GOOD size generator to run everything & l live on a boat. I wouldn't have no land to care for, wouldn't have no bills to pay, I SURE wouldn't have no neighbors to be bothered with I'm liking the Idea a lot just buy me like a acre of land near some water & a house boat & live.
Margy and Wayne Lutz were camping in Coastal British Columbia when they discovered their dream home: the float cabins of Powell Lake. They're not houseboats,...

A good idea. I am thinking of living in a mobile Van. There will be no place of my own. Wherever I stop my Van that place will be my residence with all new surroundings. Always new surroundings, and new neighbors to talk to.

@shivamani10 that sounds like a good idea too BUT we have lived on ground I'd rather live on the water where I could fish all night long or all day long or even BOTH.

I've often thought about living in a houseboat. I love boats/ships and water. So it would be a great combination. Plus, I've seen some great houseboat designs.

@just4him yeah you can have a decent size place & have the life of a lifetime without all the hassle of neighbors or traffic or even yard work or pets.

@just4him no not really I'd have me a dog to watch the boat & someone to keep me company & play with.

@Ithink just think about how awesome that would be but with kids that could be a SLIGHT problem.

@sugartoes I think it would be totally awesome too! Why do you see a problem with kids?

@Ithink well they are more into a yard & the fear of them falling into the water & just think about having 3-4 kids on a boat all at different ages?

that is a nice way to live.. but expensive of course and a boat is quite big it would be better to live in a trailer

@lady1993 not really just gas for the motor to move around & for the generator & that's cheaper than utility bills ANY DAY.

That's an idea...I just wouldn't do it. I like waterfalls, just don't want to float into one!

@FourWalls that's why you have ankers to drop over the edge to hold you in a spot.

@andriaperry I wouldn't want to live in Alabama or anywhere down south cause of the hurricanes I'd find a place that I wouldn't have to worry about bad weather, I know there's got to be somewhere right?

@sugartoes You wouldn't have to pay utility bills. What about electricity, when it gets dark?

@kobesbuddy that's what the generator is for, where you can have lights & other things that need power.
