I Must Be Psychic

United States
December 7, 2017 9:26am CST
Do you have psychic abilities? Normally I'd never say I had that ability but today I am bragging about my talent. Yesterday my dryer made a loud bang and it just stopped working. The lights were all lit but nothing. It also had a bit of a smoke smell to the heat so I quickly unplugged it and called for a repair man. This morning the repair man confirmed my psychic abilities. I need a new dryer The cost to fix would be so expensive that it's smarter to replace it than fix it. I'm not totally surprised since the washer died last March and I figured the dryer would give up the ghost too. I am so disappointed in Samsung. Anyway, Saturday I'll be out buying a new dryer so ho ho ho and Merry Christmas to me!

I'd like a new stove too @fishtiger58 but hopefully it isn't a necessary purchase like the dryer is

it is nice to have nice soft towels from the dryer compared to stiff ones that are line dried. I'm spoiled with my washer and dryer so being without is not fun. I'm just hoping Santa makes an early delivery and I don't have to wait for him to drop it from his sleigh

@Marilynda1225 we haven't had the dryer in over a year, and we'll it takes a little while to get used to or used to it now and there's no point spending money on the dryer when we can line dry it.

That's more like "psychic lite". That's one expense you don't need right now.

@Marilynda1225 It is so ridiculous. All my appliances in my kitchen are from 21 years ago and most of the new ones last about 1/3 of that time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess gone are the days when a washer/dryer last almost a lifetime

I use solar power as Uncle Joe suggested but I like to dry the towels in the dryer. It does make them fluffier than the sun.

We can't have those outside line dyers here as I live in a community and they would hinder the lawn people from mowing if they were in our yards. We don't even have fences

@Marilynda1225 I see. I guess that happens here too. I can understand it would be hard for those responsible for mowing the lawn.

You are psychic . There comes a time when appliances just decide to give out . . . it's a temporary moment of inconvenience to replace it, but in the end you do get a new one and don't have to worry about it for a long time. I hope they put a big red bow on the box for you !

I'm hoping to go out tomorrow unless we have snow to deter my shopping trip. If I can have it delivered quickly that will be wonderful.

I wasn't that old....less than 8 years and I'm highly disappointed since I paid quite a bit when I bought both the washer and dryer when I moved here

Either that or hang them out on the clothes-line @Marilynda1225 . Although with winter coming that might be a bad idea.

Actually I do have some psychic abilities. Glad nothing happened with that dryer. Hope your find a new one that is of good quality. I have always been satisfied with Whirlpool products. Never had a dryer thought. I use the clothes line outside.
