All Prettied Up to Go See Grandma!

Molly has Christmas bows in her hair. She is all set to see Grandma Marilyn, my husband's mother, on Monday. Molly also smells just lovely due to her bath, and I know Grandma will appreciate that. Even though Molly weighs in at 52 pounds, our very petite dog groomer, Trisha, always has to carry Molly into the room for her grooming session since Molly will not enter on her own 4 paws. Trisha did have a Christmas scarf tied around Molly's neck too, but Molly insisted that scarf be removed. Molly said that Christmas scarves for dogs are "so 1980s!" The bows are white and green, and the words "Merry Christmas," are printed on each bow. I could not get close enough to Molly's head to get a really good shot of those holiday bows. We were delighted with those two bows in Molly's hair. However, this morning, Molly is only wearing one bow. The other bow is somewhere out there in the backyard.

Poor Molly! She is a dog not a little girl to torture with all those hair bows. Shame on you!

Oh, NO! Is Mommy being mean to poor little Molly again? A bath to be clean, that's terrible! Ribbons on her ears? Now, that's going a bit too far, Mother! Are you being added to Santa's naughty list?

Molly does suffer so. She is now sound asleep on her doggy bed, with one bow still in place.

When I read you aren’t going to grandmas house until Monday I wondered if she would be able to keep those bows in until then and by the time I got to the end I see she is already only wearing one

Just one bow. She looks rather cute with just one, but it will not last long.

Yes, it is hard to travel when pets are part of the family. Molly goes to Florida with us. We drive to Florida from our Chicago suburb, and Molly is definitely a dog who loves to go along for the ride.

Fifi would not have tolerated any bows. We tried a hat once...the results amused us...but not poor Fifi. Then there was the time she had to be shaved....be bought her a coat. She would have NOTHING to do with that coat.

Fifi definitely did not like anything on her person, that's for sure. Molly will tolerate the bows, but that is it.

She looks wonderful, what a talented groomer. Ellie likes to wear a scarf, I don't know if she has a Christmas one, but she has lots of everyday ones.

@Corbin5 Ok. Sorry. You see. I say this because I know a person who is not an animalist anyway. She says that in doing so, the animals suffer. But this is just her point of view.

Very pretty and sure is all in good fun, but could not do it. To each is own. My old male alpha would of ate her alive or if he liked her, spared her and chewed those bows off. To be honest pretty cool to see something different and as long as she is enjoying it and you and the family. All that matters.

Well, the groomer is so nice, that we let her put the bows and the scarf on Molly. We almost asked for no adornments, but did not want to disappoint Trisha.

@Corbin5 It took me a minute on this one, yeah people try so hard. It is a shame to disappoint. You are a great sport and a good person.

LOL, that is so cute. My daughter dresses up her dogs sometimes, And they're big dogs!. I think my daughter is making up for not having kids to dress by fancying up the dogs, lol. But it's not very often. It's for special, like these bows on your Molly. And I'm sure they'd lose the scarves too. I'm glad she'll be smelling sweet for the visit.

I bet your daughter has so much fun dressing up her dogs. Molly will sort of tolerate the bows, but that is it. That scarf was removed as soon as we got home.

Yes, my brother's dogs were therapy dogs and they loved wearing their bandanas that said, "I Am a Therapy Dog." Some dogs do like to dress up a bit.

@DianneN After about 2 days, I want her back home. If she is left behind, her little heart breaks, so off she will go with her dad.
