Another pretty sunrise and why The Horse has been MIA

I just woke up to a really pretty sunrise. I suppose the conditions were right. Mostly clear skies but with scattered high clouds. I think this sunrise photo is from last year at about the same time--I'll have to check. Why have I been missing in action this week? Too much work, without breaks between jobs. Worked at my friend's preschool at 8:30 AM yesterday and got home from my kid client at about 10 PM. To quote Governator, "I'll be back."

Yes it does! I notice that as I was taking the photo. I think there was some low-lying fog to the East that day.

That would make a good movie title, "Kid Client." You're going to have to write the screenplay, of course. Work is a darn good reason not to be here, I've got nada but "I'm at some other site."

Scared me for a moment - looking at your photo I thought you were going to say you woke up to a fire! That's the scenario down here . . . fires . . . and even a new one further south.

My sister sent me some pictures... I couldn't believe it when she said it was Bel-Air... Scary scenes even near streets I'm familiar with like Sunset Blvd and Wilshire Blvd...

@sishy7 Yep. That would be the Skirball fire . . . just around the Getty along the 405. I met my friend today at the Sherman Oaks Galleria . . . she was coming from Mar Vista (close to Santa Monica Airport) and had to drive on the 405 (which had been closed both ways - imagine that nightmare too). She said the hills were scorched on that side of the freeway. And you know how big those Bel-Air houses are!

Are you safe right now? I'm in the process of checking in with my friends down there. The fires here were to the North of me I went to Graduate School at UCSB. I have a friend in Ojai too.

All I've been reading are about how cold the weather is when they woke up this morning and I hope it isn't that as cold where you are. I've been away the whole week as well as I went on vacation on this very beautiful island to watch the most amazing sunset.

You're not being bothered with the fires, are you? I know the weather out there is crazy (80 in one part of LA, 40 in another part), so I don't know how far the smoke is flying.

I'm going to slow down soon. I give my Final on Monday. And after the new year, I'll leave the afternoon job (they're shutting down the "mentoring" program), and only have two jobs. The pain in the arze for the last two months is that I've overlapped my "old" job and my "new" job, so I'm working around 70 hours/week, excluding music and woodworking. It's too much.
