In the world, both competition or cooperation exist. However, which is better? Which will build a better world? Let's take a sports game where you have two teams competing to win the game but at the same time each team has to cooperate to win. Is there a problem here? Does the world make a serious mistake by promoting competition and by giving little attention to the importance of cooperation? T ogether E ach A chieves M ore Competition feeds the ego and divides people and a house divided cannot stand. Cooperation feeds everyone and everyone is important to the whole and to making a house a place of love. What are your thoughts? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galatians 5:26 (Amplified Bible) 26 We must not become conceited, challenging or provoking one another, envying one another. 2 Corinthians 6:1 (Amplified Bible) 6 Working together with Him, we strongly urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain [by turning away from sound doctrine and His merciful kindness].

I think we need both. Everyone can cooperate to make dinner. Its food and people will eat. A little competition in the kitchen can bring on creative useful spins to meals. its the same with life. its great to have support but it doesn't hurt to try for more to do better.

Interesting! Wouldn't love be a better incentive and provide the impetus to do our best?

@1hopefulman in theory, yes. In practicality? no If love was any kind of factor to motivate people.... no one would be hungry or denied health coverage.

@Daelii Yes we could use more love. I'm working on it. Any suggestions?

I think that good-natured competition is a good thing where you compete but if you lose you are willing to congratulate the winner. Cooperation has always been a good thing since it is senseless to do otherwise because then you don't achieve anything.

Nice thoughts! Do you think there is a lot of the good-natured competition? Do you think that is what the schools, business and sports promote?

I think so too! Do you think any good actually come from competition?

Cooperation is needed most in the world. And competition gets the blood boiling and brings people together. Competition is exciting. It can make people push to be their best and test their limits.

Isn't the world in a mess because of competition? Why do we have so many countries? Couldn't we have one united world?

@db20747 Look what has happened with sports. I think that competition can start with good intentions but it easily goes wrong. Better to replace competition with love. However, that is not popular in this world.

@1hopefulman Looks like there will always be competition because people want to be the best. And there is always competition to survive. But good sportsmanship is what's needed. If we have good sportsmanship, then competition won't be too bad.

I think there should be competition in the cooperation! Without competition, there will be no inventions! So I am favour of competition within the cooperation!!

@creativeaashish I have no problem with competition if is used constructively but most often it is used selfishly as in competitive sports like boxing, etc.
