When did you know that Santa is not real?

I used to believe that Santa is real when I'm very young. I put socks outside the house and I'm happy to see goodies in the morning of Christmas day. Until my cousin told me the truth that it's my parents and not Santa who is putting goodies in the sock. I think I'm 9 at that age. I feel sad after that

I am not catholic and my family dont even celebrate Christmas, I am from a Christian sect with no Christmas because Jesus is born in Spring.

I never believed it but I just liked to believe it as it made a kind of magic around it all.
I still want to believe it even now.

When I read books from the Church Of God International which is located in Tyler Texas I found out that Santa Claus is a myth which is when I reached adulthood around the 1980s.

I have learned that Santa is not real when I was at the age of 8. Cuz I am too clever to think that Santa only belongs to fairytale books and that fairytales aren't true. So that's how the story goes. =)

I have no clue how old I was. Tessa knows this year and she is 10 ... she asked me to tell her the truth and I asked if she was sure. She said yes and so I told her. She gave me a kiss on the check and thanked me for telling the truth and being honest with her. My little girl is growing up.

@averygirl72 it is because i found it weird for a big fat man dressed in red to give gifts to every house, riding on a wagon driven by reindeers. heheh!
