Have you heard of making a calendar with your own choice of photos as a gift? Have you done it? Is it expensive? Ideas: Choose some photos you have of common friends Make one with photos of your children when they were young for your married children and grandchildren Make one with pets you had

I've just written about a calendar we're having made for a friend. We have lots of photos of their grandchildren, their dogs and their garden so we've chosen 13 of the best photos (a cover and 12 months) and the calendar should be here before Christmas. I think it is a lovely idea.

Yes, that's where I got the idea for this post. What was the cost for each copy in US $?

@JudyEv I think our dollars are about the same and so it is a pretty good price for a unique present. Thanks!

Now a days, there are ways a person can do this themselves, and it would be pretty easy to do. With the easy photo programs that even come with the Cell phones for pictures anymore to transfer to your computer all you would need to do is insert them then into the calendar you were wanting to make. This is a cool idea to do.

My aunt has been sending me that every Christmas and I have no idea whether it's cheap or expensive but I think it's really cheap. I have my own printer at home and some photo paper and I could do it if I want to. I just don't think it's nice gift though.

It would have to have pictures that are important to the receiver. It would not be the gift but a gift. Let's say for my daughter, it would be pictures of when she was a kid that her children and friends have not seen. It might be interesting. It might be a conversation piece when her friends visited.

@toniganzon For it to be an appreciated gift, there would have to be something special about it. Let's say that we have a good friend and we have taken pictures of them over the years and we put them on a calendar. Then, I think that might bring a smile to their face and I'm sure they would show it to their friends and family.

I receive commercials every day to order online a calendar made using your own photos, the price ranges from $5 to $15. I have no one interested in receiving a calendar.

I've never made one as a gift, because most of the people keep track of their life on their phones. Not I! I should make a calendar for myself if I knew how.

@DianneN They are free and have pictures of scenes of nature. If we want to make our own we need to plan early so that we can get them on time for 2019.

I have made these calendars for my family for many years at Christmas. I design them on line using my own photos. They're really not expensive and we look forward to them.

Interesting! What kind of photos to you use? Do you make individual ones for each person or make a bunch of the same one and give them out?

@1hopefulman I use photos I've taken throughout the year and order identical copies for each of our kids and grown grandkids.

@1hopefulman I usually order from Vista Print and they always do good quality. The personalized wall calendars were about $9 each plus shipping, which is reasonable.

We have done it. It was kind of expensive printing it ourselves. I would check out Staples and see what it costs to do through them

@1hopefulman we made them the same for our family members. It was quite a few years ago, we went through a couple of ink cartridges or more than a couple. I don't remember the cost now. I think if I were to do it again I would check out staples. They have a program for making your own calendar.

That's a cute little idea. I would like one of my family. My grams would love something like that. She has so many collages of pictures from everything, every gathering, party and Christmas.

I used to order visit cards from Vista Print, very affordable. I think they had the option you could load own photos, but it was a long time ago. Maybe they are still around.

True! I have some photos from their childhood that they haven't seen in a while and they would go nicely on a calendar.
