Now, I heard this word on a TV program and had to scramble to write it down, even though I didn’t really know how to spell it exactly and I had to look it up in the dictionary afterwards.
The word is: PARSIMONIOUS Pronounced: pahr si MO ni us
What does it mean?
It means stingy or miserly.
The actor on the program said: “Don’t bother asking Mrs. ___ . She’s a parsimonious lady and not likely to contribute to our fundraiser.”

Actually, there is a lot of generous people too. With all these natural disasters, people are helping other people in many ways. This hurricane season was really bad here. I was watching on the weather channel and some of the devastation, especially in the Caribbean is almost unbelievable. People are donating funds to help these islands.

Oh, I knew what it meant, but I wasn't sure how to spell it. I did spell it correctly though, but I wanted to make sure.

This sounds new to me too. Now I already have a new word on my vocabulary bank. I wonder how does Parsimonious people feel like by having such attitude. Maybe they feel happy with it by being stingy and yes, I too has a family member like that. hmmm
