Day 50 Jeremiah 49:28 Jeremiah 49:28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus says the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east. 29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side. 30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, says the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you. 31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwells without care, says the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone. 32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, says the LORD. 33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation forever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it. Have you felt like everyone was against you? When you put forth a suggestion, it was batted down, or it was completely ignored. Nothing you could do or say had any effect on what you wanted to do. God had set himself against Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor. Here again is another son of Abraham, through his son, Ishmael. Genesis 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. 12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. (KJV) Genesis 25:12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham: 13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, 14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, 15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: 16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. (KJV) God told Hagar that every man would be against Ishmael. God’s proclamation would carry to his seed. Kedar was located in Arabia, southeast of Israel. Not much is known about Kedar, except that God was against him. From the moment a person is born, they stand against God. Their father is Satan, who deceives them into believing his lies about their place in the world. However, God seeks out those who would call him Lord, and accept his Son, Jesus, as their Savior. Those who accept him, he calls his child. For those who reject him, he stands against them. Every moment of your life, you have the opportunity to turn your life over to God, and Jesus Christ as your Savior. Why would you want God to stand against you when you can accept him and receive his blessings on your life? 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV) Don’t let God stand against you, as he did with Kedar. Accept him today and receive his blessings on your life. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for loving me so much, you aren’t willing to see me die without you. Show your love to all those you created, so they too, can see your love and accept you as their God and Jesus as their Savior. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
