The focus of this particular music series is a countdown of my favorite songs with real people in the title. We are at #4: "Clint Eastwood" by Gorillaz. Gorillaz is a cartoon band created in 1998 by Blur vocalist Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. They are probably best known for their 2001 hit single, "Clint Eastwood." "Clint Eastwood" was the first single released from their self- titled debut album. The song is a mix of electronic, rock and hip hop (Albarn performs the vocals, while Del the Funky Homosapien performs the raps.) "Clint Eastwood" is particularly popular in the UK, where it charted at #4 and sold more than 480,000 copies. It peaked at #57 on the Billboard Hot 100, #3 on that magazine's Modern Rock Tracks chart, and #32 on their Top 40 Mainstream chart. All told, the song charted in 20 countries. I've linked to a live performance. Check it out, they put on a great show for a cartoon band. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

@teamfreak16 I love how when the virtual band started Noodle was a little girl and now she is a woman.

@CaptAlbertWhisker - That is pretty neat how they've done that. She was only 10 when the "band" started.

Well, that was interesting. And not a single “go ahead, make my day” line to be heard!

The funny thing is they say they've never heard from Clint either way on it.

It probably wouldn't have worked had the music not been so good.

I love this song, and it's one of my top ten (which is about a thousand songs). I was shocked to see that it was a live performance, because no one has seen the Gorillaz in concert, have they?
