Yesterday, I have seen a movie titled 'cocktail'. This is really a poor rated movie lacking many things of life. It is a love story revolving around three lovers. It is a triangle love. This is in no way reflects the reality of any religion. In the movie, the two heroines finally marry the Hero. A time pass movie. No religion of the world accepts a man to have two wives. However, a man can marry another lady on the acceptance and consent of his first wife. Have you ever seen or observed any such situation in any religion known to you?

But, such movies act like slow poison on the mindset of the people in the society.

@peachpurple 4 wives, not 2 and not just anyone can go and marry 4wives. There are strict conditions which people uneducated in Islam do not know and hence misuse this polygamy thing.

@shivamani10 I disagree! The society itself is the poison. It is so deep-rooted that its roots are damaged at their core.

yeah. Many people are giving the same reply. Even the Muslims do not have such practice though they are permitted to have 5-7 marriages. There are some conditions and a procedure for this.

First of all, have you even watched the movie? Because you have got the plot (story) wrong. Secondly, there are plenty religions that allow polygamy like Islam allows 4 wives. And you don't even need a religion to marry more than one person in some cases. Even Draupadi had 5 husbands (polyandry) but now people discourage it which is mighty hypocritical of Hinduism if you ask me.

First of all, the photo is not from my own collection. Taken from free images. Secondly, I am not talking about the exceptions, ifs and buts, ...but the generally accepted mindset of a common man. I know and was expecting somebody would talk about it. But, that is totally an exceptional case. Even, her mother-in-law 's story of conceiving is totally an exceptional one. It does not mean everybody can marry and have 5 husbands.
