A 15 year old male teenager fell down a mine shaft when his rope snapped when he was climbing with a male friend at the foothills at Jefferson County in Golden Colorado on Thursday morning. The male friend was able to get out of the mine shaft but the teenager was not so lucky to get out of the mine shaft. The companion of the teenager was able to get help from the rescue teams from Golden Fire, West Metro Fire Rescue, AMR Ambulance, Jefferson County Open Spaces, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Alpine Rescue were able to get the 15 year old teenager out of the mine shaft about four hours after he fell down the mine shaft, Both males suffered leg injuries from the fall but they are expected to make a full recovery from their accident. However the Colorado officials will be taking steps to close down the abandoned mine shafts because they want to avoid dealing with a major tragic event in the future.

So glad. Those firefighters are such heroes. We dont have any old mines around here but old unused mills that teens are always climbing over and falling off of
