my college classmate G said that our other classmate, R, was asking her when we'll meet again.
so i told G, "okay, the next time R follows up, ask her to set the schedule. because when she sets the schedule, it means, one, she has the budget for it and, two, she's not caring for her parents that day."
after a day or two, G texted me back on what day R decided.
however, the venue will still be the same place we went to the last time we got together because it was central to the 3 of us.
because R has been wanting to go to another mall that none of us have been to, but, one, it's out of the way for the 3 of us, and, two, it will be after-office hours on a weekday, which means, one, we only have a few hours to eat and talk, and, two, it's going to be hard for us to commute going home.
the last time we met, R was asking if G and I had any old/unused backpack or overnight/weekend bag that she can use when she goes to her sister's house to care for her parents on the weekends.
i do have one that was a hand-me-down. i haven't used it yet (just keeping it for future use), but maybe it's better to give it to her now, so it can start being used.

and the timing is right because R said she will be caring for their parents full-time from the 20th onwards.

if the meetup would be on a weekend, it would be easier to meet, say, at 10am, at that out-of-the-way mall and we'd have enough hours to eat, chat and window-shop.
yeah, at least with her, the bag will be used regularly, whereas, with me, it would probably be once a year.

I have a bunch of old back packs laying around. I use them when I go hiking. If one of my daughters backpacks break she has old ones to fall back on. If you don't think you will ever use you're again then might as well give it to her since she can put it to some use!

It's nice you can pitch in and help your friend like that. I hope you have fun getting together with your buddies. I would love a get-together with some old friends pretty soon. I did see a couple of friends over the summer who I've known since my youth. We met over fifty years ago, so it's really sweet to hang out with them. Sometimes we revert to a little silliness like the old days.
