“Do you bring lunch from home?”

Some people discourage their kids to have packed lunch in their schools. But I think it shouldn’t be. Why? It is far better to have a slow food than having junk foods. School canteens can provide healthy food for the kids. However, it can save money if the kids have food from home. When I was still in primary and secondary school level, I used to bring my lunchbox with me. I can save my money allowance and go straight to my piggy bank. The same routine had been carried out until working in my previous jobs. How about you, guys? Have you tried to have your lunchbox in school or workplace? Image Credit: pixabay.com

My hubby brings food from home. The cafes near us do not have healthy food choices and cost quite a bit, too, for their food.

@sallypup That would be ideal to have in our system. I am planning to change my diet regimen by eating fruits. I hope I can do it as my New Year's Resolution for 2018.

I do agree with you. Some of my colleagues feel indifferent for having a packed lunch at the working station. But I don't mind.

@carexing25 She must be so happy to earn money. The best thing is that the food is affordable. If I am your co-worker, I will take an order to her.

@Shavkat we had our company driver's wife set up her food stall outside from early morning up to the last working hour to serve us with home cooked food but here in my department all of us bring our own from home coz they are not commercialized and you can decide based on your tastebuds.. hehe

It is very common for me to bring the lunch from home. First, it is healthier. Second, it saves a lot of time going out for lunch. I can sit in front of the computer and enjoy my lunch in the lunch break. I like that much more.

I also feel the same way. I don't mind if I am having my lunch alone. As long as, I enjoyed the slow food from the house.

It is only one of my reasons why I wanted to pack lunch. The local restaurant is too far from my working place,

When I was still working, I always packed a lunch. That way I could pick and choose what's best, nutritionally.

Where I could I took food from home in a lunchbox or tupperware whatever you might call it. I think that children should be allowed that and here I think that they are as there are so many children that would go hungry otherwise. The Menu for School Dinners is better in some places but in others its quite awful.

@Shavkat It can be a power packed vitamin filled source for her and lots of other people´s children that cannot afford the prices of the School Dinners now.

@lovinangelsinstead2 It is essential to let the child have their vitamins as a supplement. My family and I provided this for our little niece. Unfortunately, some parents cannot afford it.

I am also amazed with my little niece way of having packed lunch. The teachers encourage the parents to prepare their work packed lunch and snacks from home. The main concern is to give healthy food.

@LadyDuck I do think that some private schools offered such option to the students. In my little niece case, her teacher instructed the parents to prepare slow food from home.

@Shavkat The school did not want discrimination among kids, we had to eat all the same food that was also chosen to be filling and healthy. I think it's a good policy, some parents give garbage foods to their kids.
