What kind a funeral would you like?

While I was at the gym doing my exercises there was a discussion on the radio about funerals to celebrate the life of the person that is gone and how to make it a happy occasion by doing something that the dead person wanted. An example: for a person that was a skater and loved skating, they had something at a skating ring and somebody skated with the ashes of the dead person one last time. Should funerals be a happy occasion? Chances are that we will all go sometime unless God ends death while we are still alive. What kind of funeral do you want? Have you pre-planned something for your funeral or are you leaving it to some loved one to do something when the unwantable (death) happens? Do you want a funeral or a fun-erall? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've asked my daughters to cremate me and not show my dead body. Have a spiritual talk based on the Bible to encourage any that show up. Have something to eat and go home happy that I've lived and not sad that I have died.

The simplest the better, I do not want that people talk, just let me rest in peace, cremate my body and disperse my ashes.

Nothing complicated! Do you have a preference for where they disperse the ashes?

@1hopefulman No I have not a preference to disperse my ashes, I would like in my garden, but everywhere in an open space is find. I was born free, my ashes must be free.

I want my body to be cremated as soon as I die. Don't want unnecessary expenses and people crying. I want everyone to move on.

I wish to be cremated to, but my parent's don't want it for me I just think it is more space efficient. And i want my favorite songs to play while i am led to my final resting place. And then people would thrown little notes they never got to say to me inside the casket? urn?

That's what we did for my mother as my father wanted it that way.

@Shavkat The thing is to do what they would have wanted and to make the family happy.

@1hopefulman It is how we did for my late father. I was the one who had prepared everything for him.

We are being cremated and our ashes put in a casket at our old church. They have a columbarium there for the ashes of past parishioners.

I would want to be cremated. And like you, I would want my loved ones to be happy that I lived and focus on that. Fond memories of me, not heartache.
