Loving this gray Yuletide

I want fog for Christmas! Serve 'er up! Thanks Santa. You are very much appreciated. The snow can stay on the adorable cards. I mailed out another batch of Christmas Tales and three fruitcakes. We only mail fruitcakes to those who ask. Each cake is loaded with fruit and care and love so we make sure each one is wanted. Its not nice to toss butter and honey and fruit into the trash can. Not at all. I'm starting to feel a bit more Yule happy. I'm thinking about writing a cookie blog for the website Creative Fancy that daughter maintains for our work, hubbys, mine, daughters. Oh she did well with that last poem of mine! Glorious orange sky matched the literary geese. I hope this is a good Monday for all that read this. Blessed Yule! (I posted a photo in the comments on my Naughty naughty Leah discussion if you are curious.)

@Luap1050 I believe that many people have not had homemade fruitcake. Its like if you only know sugar cookies through eating dollar store cookies, you won't know what a real sugar cookie is all about.

I missed that Naughty Leah post, I'll have to back track. I wish I knew someone who bakes homemade fruitcake, I'll bet those taste good.

@rebelann If you were closer I'd give you a chunk of mine. I guess I should say slice but chunk is better.

Chunk is good too @sallypup I read somewhere that the only kind of sugar in those are from the fruits, if they're homemade, is that true?

@rebelann Depends on the recipe. Mine is from Rodale, the natural foods people. I have an old cookbook from them. This recipe also sneaks in a little grape jam.

Making fruitcakes isn't cheap either. Dried fruit is quite expensive so you don't want the cakes being chucked out.
