I know this is largely a generational thing . I'm 60 and while I find texting is a great tool and efficient communicator, I still do most of my web surfing, writing , and pretty much everything on my PC with it's nice big screen! I leave my phone on my desk at work and only occasionally look throughout the day for missed calls or texts. I do love my tablet for reading magazines as I subscribe to Texture and love it for its efficiency, but my phone is well...pretty much a phone ! . So I ask you all , How glued are you to your phones? Are you the type that has to respond to every Tweet and Facebook message? Do you feel " Sick " if you are unable to look at your phone? I just read something where they say 58% of smartphone users can't go an hour without looking at their cell phone Do tell!!!

I don't feel sick when I am unable to use my phone. I rarely use my phone for surfing the web. I currently own an iPhone 7 plus which has bigger screen but I plan to change it soon to an iPhone X. Even though my phone has a bigger screen I still prefer my MacBook Pro.When talking to friends from other countries, my phone is very convenient since I don't usually stay at home all the time. I also love instagram so when I open my phone it's the first app that I check.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the convenience of using a phone ... and its a great tool for video chat etc. I just don't want it to be the overpowering force in my day ! Funny , was just thinking mention " computer " , and some kids don't know what that is...and theres an idea for a discussion!..lol

I don't have a mobile. My husband has one for emergencies but that's it.

I resisted for years ....then it was a pay as you go for emergencies.... My work requires me to have a company phone , so I have it, but I don't have a " personal " phone and don't need it.

@Luap1050 Vince had to have one for work too but was pleased to get rid of it when he retired. Reception isn't good here either but they certainly have their uses - can't think of too many at the moment!

I love my technology, but only use my phone for calls. I use my iPad because it's larger and I can type much easier.

Definitely not. I primarily use my phone to check time. When I'm home, I use it to contact my parents.

If I was like 25 years younger Im sure you and I would hit it off Rina !!...lol... perfect answer if I was in a relationship, I wouldn't be able to handle a woman looking at her phone every 5 minutes to be honest !

I use my phone for certain things and most of the time it is off. No, I am not a slave to my phone.
