Getting Some Things Fixed on My Car

Currently, I'm at my mechanics mainly because I didn't have heat for the trip home from work on Saturday. On the way out here though, it was working a little. Which surprised me. Possibly it only needs more antifreeze. If that's the case it will save me some money. I may have them replace the motor for my window if the heater is an easy fix. When it's cold the window stops halfway up and won't continue unless I can wiggle it. (It was an easy fix, but the window will have to wait). The image is a Pomeranian Chihuahua which decided to climb into my lap.

What a cute lil pup. I hope you were able to get the whole thing fixed so you won't have to bother with it for a while.

Sixty five dollars later it's all taken care of. There was air in the line and it needed a bit more antifreeze than it had.

Years ago, my car heater stopped working. This was a huge problem...the defrost wasn't working either and I was using the scrapper while driving to keep some visibility. I had to drive 12 km to my husbands place of work so he could fix it. It turned out to be an easy fix....a hose had come off...I drove home with a clear windshield and warm feet.

The other night when I drove home I had similar conditions, but today on the way to the shop it seemed to get a little heat. It was frigid this morning and I took a blanket with me, but it wasn't awful on the inside like it was over the weekend even though the wind chill was colder today than then. Quite odd. It turns out it needed a bit more antifreeze and there was air in the line which prevented the coolant from circulating which then hindered the heater from working properly. Alls better now and just 65.00. That was also so they could run diagnostics on it.

@Morleyhunt I imagine you do as we do also. I found it takes forever to defrost a windshield when no heat is forthcoming. But, at least we don't have to worry about that anymore.

Possibly is not a serious problem, may be a hose that came off or an electric wire that has to be attached back. Good luck.

It needed some antifreeze but mostly the problem was due to air in the line. After filling it, they bled the line and it now works great.

I've read your responses to the comments, and I see you got it fixed and that it wasn't too expensive. That's good. Cute little dog.

If I still have problems with it, there's a small possibility it could be worse, but since the previous owners kept the car in pristine condition, I'm thinking they took care of issues as they arose and this fix will take care of it.

It worked out well and only cost me sixty-five dollars. The antifreeze was down a quart and there was air in the line. If it continues to have issues it could be something else, but we're hoping that this was the only problem.

There are two dogs there and another wanted attention, but I only had room for the one on my lap. I've seen a bigger dog there before too, but that one is somewhat shy and stays behind the desk peeking out periodically. It ended up an easy fix and I have heat once again.

Everytime I read your post, I am reminded of something that I have to do. But right now, at least til January 15 or so, I am extremely busy. So I would not be able to do much seriously. That is why I keep deferring it. Hope you are doing good. Love...hugs..tc.

We need more cooling of A/C while travelling rather than heat.
