Nativity Scene

This little Nativity Scene was started the other night at the girls night out at my friend's church event. It was a ton of fun to work on. It was a lot of careful transferring for all the little pieces. I lost my dots for the I's. oops! Oh well, I plan to paint it with my daughters. I couldn't decide between leaving it as it is or painting it and seeing the wood tone for where the images are. I like the idea of painting it a little rainbowish. Have you done a lot with painting transfers and things? I have used stencils and a few similar things like this in the past for flowers and things.
