There are many misconceptions about what psychology is.It's actually defined as the study of behaviour and mental processes. Many think that psychology is about reading ones mind but that's not what it is.

Psychology is the study of the human mind. I got a minor in it when I went to college.

Of course it's the study of human mind. But what I'm trying to say is that studying ones mind is way too different from reading ones mind. Many people have misconceptions that by seeing a person we can tell everything about them. But that's not what psychology is.It's the study of behaviour and mental processes.Reading ones mind just means that telling whatever is running in their mind.Psychology is not magic. But it's science. And that's my point.

I've *never* thought that psychology means reading people's mind! That's an absurd idea.

Good that you did think of it that way.But as far as I know there are people who think psychology is about reading people's mind.I feel they need better understanding about what psychology really is.
