Yes, it is good to learn other languages. I believe that kids should not only know their mother tongue language but others as well. Here there are grandparents that come from outside of the country to live by their families here and they cannot speak Hebrew so want to be able to communicate with their grandchildren and at time it is hard.

@Hannihar yeah kids should learn all languages.due to lack of language learning..there is communication gap.ya one has to definitely learn other language in addition to their mother tongue.

Although I'm not a guy and don't appreciate being addressed as one, I'm going to answer this. I speak German, my native language, perfectly. I speak English very well, Italian well. I used to speak Russian well, too, but have forgotten a lot due to the fact that I don't practise it. I know a bit of Turkish and would like to improve it. I'm told that I pronounce the few Danish phrases I know with a Swedish accent. No idea where that comes from.

I agree, learning a language is good in that it increases knowledge. I have a Turkish friend, as a result, I started getting interested in learning Turkish. I am learning. There are videos on YouTube that are helping me a lot. I still have a long way to go, but I definitely know more of it today than I did 2 years ago.

Yes, it does. Matter of fact, people who are considered linguists are also considered` knowledgeable because they, too, are voracious readers. I like french because it is a challenging language to learn. Spanish though is what I consider a sexy language
