This morning I came across a very old looking woman

As usual, I walk to the office if I am not late or if it doesn't rain. On my way to the office, I saw a woman standing at the side of the road. She seemed to be waiting until the traffic let up. I watched her for a while. I thought it was not possible for her to cross over to the other side unless someone gave her a hand. Since I had more time I thought I would help her cross the road. I waved my hand to drivers from both directions to slow down, and they did. Finally I was able to grab her hand and guided her to cross the road. In our country zebra cross means nothing to motorists. This is one of the things I am disappointed in. I hope this morning is a great day to you all.

It is always nice to help others and it was so kind of you to do this for her. Some humans just don't seem to realize we are all in this together.

That was good of you to help her. It must be very difficult sometimes for the elderly who are getting a bit slow but need to cross busy streets.

The problem is that the traffic is very bad. Even it is difficult for young people to cross such busy streets.

@yanzalong It is a shame motorists do not respect the zebra crossings.

an old woman who is a friend of mine was walking through San Diego. She lives in Mexico on a pension, and had taken the bus so many times from getting lost she was out of money. She was crying and told her story to young homeless man who gave her money enough to get home from his panhandling from the day. I find that it was very nice of him.

That was really nice of you. Pedestrians definitely have the right away here, but that doesn't mean everyone follows the rules.

When I was in London, I saw the traffic rules were well followed.
