~He Laughed At Me When He Asked What I Wanted!~

Hey everyone! So yesterday my husband called me on his lunch break and asked what I wanted for Christmas. I said nothing at first, because really I have what I want-my faith and my family. He kept begging me to tell him something so I said fine! I told him I want a new mop and a container of the Downy Unstoppables so our laundry smells super amazing! Since we hang dry clothes they don't always smell fresh once dry, I know the little beads will make them smell great. He literally laughed and said wow, way to take the fun out of buying you a present! Oops! I told him I don't really need anything else, so these would be great! Anyone else want household things for Christmas?

@JohnRoberts Thank you! Lol. I would be happy to get one! =) It would help me a lot since right now I scrub the floors by getting on my hands and knees. A mop would feel amazing!

@LovingMyBabies That's good exercise but mops are a vast improvement. If I got on my knees on the floor, the paramedics would have to come help me get up. Go you!

I would prefer a personal gift for Christmas. I believe household items are for the entire house and should be purchased for the house.

@LovingMyBabies And bless your heart. I know my husband and I are on a budget and I can't afford a new mop and the Downy Unstoppables right now and I too love for my laundry to smell good. I have a friend who uses something really nice in her laundry.

There have been years where I've asked for practical gifts too. I spied a small sized box that my husband has hidden and I suspect that I may be getting a piece of jewelry. But I have to wait to see.......

No, I don't want any household things for Christmas. But we bought a new chair one year for our gift to each other. I love how my laundry smells when I hang it outside.

I mean, we need a new vaccum.. but we have one on layaway at kmart lol.. so maybe a recliner/rocker if that counts.. lol. Otherwise.. no thanks. . Must be something you'd like, maybe new clothes? Since you've said before you hardly get any for you because of always getting for the kids.

@Courtlynn Lol, that counts! I do need new clothes but I hate spending the money on them-so expensive! Maybe if he got me some at the thrift store that would work!

That's great and I can really relate This year I asked my aunty for a big pan because mine's got a dentist in the bottom, my sister and I have bought each other kettles, and my mam has got me a food processor so I can cook a wider range of healthy foods

Yes, I just received an early Christmas gift. It is two fry pans. I really needed new ones. It had gotten to the point that anytime I would cook eggs in my old fry pans, the food would stick even after putting oil or butter in the bottom of the pan.

When we were first married Mike would buy me things for the house. I was thankful because it made life easier for me and him to keep our home clean. Some people may think those type of gifts are not right but if it is something you ask for and need then it is they are the best gifts to receive.

lol! That's adorable. My husband doesn't count cleaning stuff as Christmas stuff - that is a house need/want. So I agree with your husband, it shouldn't count for christmas! I hang my clothes outside to dry too. Do you keep any soaps in with them when hanging? I put a few of those scented soaps from (after Christmas clearance sales on their baths sets) in the closets / dresser So it still smells good sitting.

@LovingMyBabies i remember the little bags of potpourri growing up, but found the scents too strong. the opposite are the mothballs! hahaha! bars of soaps is a good idea. i found more suggestions here like baking soda.
This guide is about keeping clothes smelling fresh. Having fresh smelling garments is easy, when they are stored properly.
