I think wearing a ring is good for health. There are various types of rings worn on various fingers. There are even rings that people wore in their fingers of the feet also. In India, people wear rings both in hands and on their feet also. The rings worn on the feet by a lady indicates that she is married A wedding ring is one that is worn at the time of wedding ceremony. They are meant for both the bride and bridegroom.
There are other types of rings worn as per the advice of astrologers. They suggest what type of gem stone should one wear and in which finger and on what hand. They are meant for both males and females irrespective of they are married or not. Modern science also gives many benefits of wearing rings.

i sometimes wear my graduation ring when i go on duty. sometimes the pearl ring, or the mall diamond ring given by my mother, or even that ring from Avon. i cannot wear more than 1 ring because i will always be conscious and aware of the many pieces of jewelry in my fingers.

@sw8sincere : Blue Sapphire is a gemstone studded in either gold or silver. A plain gold ring will not have any gem or stone studded in it. It will be like a band.

I have a cool Star Wars ring that I wear sometimes, but normally I don't wear rings. That is interesting about the toe rings indicate a woman is married.
