Oh boy. This video is one that you have to see to believe. This is a REPUBLICAN Senator from Louisiana questioning potential judicial nominees to the US District Court for DC. Matthew Petersen gets put on the hot spot and proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he is completely clueless and unqualified to be in a judicial position. He should have MELTED into the floor and withdrawn his nomination at that point. THESE are the people that Trump is trying to put into place for the long-term to make decisions about our laws. Remember that! So many people are blindly following him. Watch this video and then tell me that he is making good decisions!
A Democratic senator mocked one of President Trump's judicial nominees on Thursday, posting video of the nominee struggling to provide answers to a GOP senat...

I do not understand your system. In France, justice is completely independent of the political power. Judges are recruited 1) with an entry exam to a special national school for judges after a master in laws or 2) among professional lawyers having more than 20 years of activities (in this case they are chosen by other judges). It is good for you that you are not recruiting your brain surgeons like you are recruiting your judges.

It is all political which is why Presidential elections are such high-stakes things. They have the power to nominate judges to federal positions up to and including the Supreme Court and they are lifetime positions that last long after said President has served their term(s). The French way makes much more sense! (as evidenced by this video!!!!!)

@NJChicaa I had a look at his cv and at what was a Juris Doctor in the USA. It is unbelievable that a job of judge can be offered to somebody who has the equivalent of a "licence" in France (3 years of law studies), and the knowledge of a 1st year student. I studied law up to a PhD (7 years), and I was stupefied by the lack of knowledge of this man. At best here he would have been able to be a bailiff. And not a good one !

@topffer To be fair, to go to law school in the US you need to first have your bachelor's degree (4 years) and then you apply to law school for a further 3 or 4 years--whatever it is. So that may equal 7 years of advanced education though not all focused solely on law. Still, to obviously have so little knowledge of the judicial system, the cases, the law, etc. and to show up so unprepared! I would have sunk right into the floor or run out of the room screaming.

That's horrible. He can't be a judge if he never been to trial.

The U.S is need of such persons only. Otherwise the meek and humble will not be allowed to administer the U.S. The Democrats, after a long time are transfixed. They can neither slogans against him not can they approach the judiciary on some pretext or the other. The people of U.S are now turning against Democrats and nobody is liking them.

@topffer Oh...No. you are ill-treating my Hero to a very low level. You are satisfied with your judicial system and with the mode of appointment there. Ok. it is fine. But, in the context of U.S. they are having a right system in view of the circumstances Mr. Trump is involved in.

Um, no one is turning against the Democrats. Democrats are winning high stakes elections right and left. You have no clue what you are talking about.
