Have you ever won anything?

I have bought many tickets over the years and entered many draws but to date I have never one a single thing. Each week at work we each pay a toonie ($2) towards a weekly 50/50 draw in support of the local Boys and Girls Club. We have been playing it for years. Well today one of my coworkers and friend won the draw. Her share was $1936.00 A nice little win just before Christmas. She was pretty excited when she got the call this afternoon. I am so happy for her but I can't help but feel a little jealous wishing it was me. So how is your luck?

I have won some items in the past. When I was in junior high, I won a jar of jellybeans. A little over a decade ago, I won a contest to meet and greet ice skater Todd Eldredge and learned how to skate with him. I also won concert tickets to see Shania Twain 15 years ago and Montgomery Gentry the year later. But I wasn't able to go to the MG concert though. That's about it.

I've never won anything in a lottery. But I've won many things in competitions. Silly things for which you have to fill in letters to get the firm's name or write poems praising a product. This kind of thing. Once I won a flight to Turkey for two people and a one-week stay in a hotel. I had to send my cousin because I couldn't go during my school holidays. The people who gave away the prize didn't allow that. And I couldn't stay away from school for one week to amuse myself on the beach! The other big win was a one-week cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. The reason why I didn't accept this was that the cruise started in the South of France. To get there would have cost me more than the cruise would cost if I had to pay for it myself. Then there were a lot of objects like a coffee maker, a tea service, books etc. I don't remember everything. I haven't won anything for a long time because I stopped participating in comps.

No not really, nothing like that anyways. That is why I refuse to play the lottery its a waste of money, so I save that money and I win.

Not really, like you, I'm the spectator who watches the other person win. I did win a makeup mirror at the mall when I was a teen, but that's about it.

I won 20 dollars from a Gameshow. The jackpot prize of that show is 1 million but the female contestants realized they are the majority so they decided to "Girl Power" and vote off all the guys. It is fun to watch them cannibalize each other the moment all guys are voted off. The winner got 300 thousand bucks. The Gameshow is titled the weakest link. I value my privacy but the episode I was on was on Youtube. If you see an episode where the girls gang up on the guys, I am one of the guys. The show actually have no consolation prize but they felt bad to me so they gave me 20 bucks.

Back in the late 80s, I won 400 dollars playing Bingo on a Cruise Ship. It made may day! That is the only thing I have won.

When I was a teenager I won tickets on the radio to see NSYNC in concert, but I didn't get to go. So I guess my luck is not that great. My sister wins contests all the time. She won a Wii console once and another time she won a $1000 gift card. I wish I were that lucky!

@Happy2BeMe I still regret that I didn't get to go to that concert. To this day I have never seen NSYNC in concert, and I was such a huge fan back in the day. I was just about as heartbroken as a teenybopper girl can get.

I have only won one thing my whole life from drawings. It was for a fundraiser and they were giving away a basket full of soaps, deodorants, perfume, nail polish, etc... It was a beautiful basket and I won! There were around 50 people and I was so shocked that I actually won. I'm so sorry it wasn't you who won. =(

That must have been so exciting for your coworker!!! I never bought my own lotto ticket, but won lots of $2 and $5 from tickets my principal gave out as gifts. I've won a few contests of $500 and $1000, jewelry, and a few other wonderful things. The only time I gambled in a casino, I won big, too. I have beginner's luck, so know when to take my money and run. lol

I don't buy lottery tickets. I've bought tickets for fundraisers 50/50 or raffle tickets. I consider them a donation. I don't even get anything at a penny sale.

Two times I won something and was happy about it! As a little girl, I collected slow poke sucker wrappers, to enter a contest at a grocery store. I won a huge, slow poke sucker! It was about one pound of caramel candy Also, my first husband entered a contest, betting towards a TV football game. Our lucky numbers were 0/0. The first quarter, neither team scored, the score was 0/0 so we won $50! The second quarter a team scored, so we didn't win any more. If the score was something like 10/20, the last numbers 0/0, we would have won another $50. It didn't happen:(
