Being fit is our first priority in daily life and to stay that way we have two alternatives Gym And Yoga. Most of us prefer going to the Gym and a few consider Yoga. Both are equally enhanced towards keeping ourselves fit mentally and physically. Being an Indian (Origin of Yoga) I prefer practicing Yoga because it keeps me spiritually connected aswell. You won't get a muscular physique by Practicing Yoga but its proven that people have lived more healthier and longer Practicing Yoga instead of Gym. There is a women in India who is 90 years old and and she hasn't been to the hospital in her entire life and she owes it all to Yoga Practice. So what's that you prefer or do in your daily routine is it the Gym or Practicing Yoga? Image Credit: Pixabay

Why not both? I don’t do “heavy” exercising, just walking for the most part, then I do yoga stretches. Two are better than one!

@kobesbuddy A most preferred alternative if you can't practice yoga or make it to the gym.

Though I don't go to gym or do yoga but I still I would prefer yoga because it's an easy way to keep you fit and relaxed your mind as well as your body.

Yoga is good for breathing and mental health. But it helps very little to stay fit.

@kavinitu I have no difficulties believing that. Yoga can do wonders to our health. Mainly because it lets us breath better.

People who practice yoga seem to be much more calm and less stressed. I worked with a woman who went to hot yoga classes. The temp is extremely hot in the room where they practice yoga, and she actually lost a lot of weight doing this.

@misunderstood_zombie The baiscs of practicing yoga is controlling the mind. If you can control your mind and not let your mind control you there is nothing that is impossible in this world.

@sol_cee I have heard of hut yoga and not hot yoga now hut yoga is not practiced in hut, but hut in Hindi means extreme or say tough condition hut yoga is practised by those who want to invoke Spiritual powers within the human body to do extraordinary things which normal body cannot perform.

I am not into both but do some simple exercises to keep my body and mind healthy. I live a life of moderation and acceptance and that is 24 hours. That helps a lot to remain healthy. Few allocate time for gym/yoga and then back to stressful life. I think that is what is more the norm. It is better to follow mindful living where we are really alive every moment by being conscious of them as the present is the best present - siva
