Do You Know A Smoker? / myLot

I remember when my mom quit smoking. She had continued to smoke for many years due in some part to Raleigh and their coupons. She loved collecting them and green stamps. When Raleigh quit, she quit. Do you know someone who smokes? Are they going to try to quit for the new year?

I don't know any one who smokes now. I can't abide folks smoking near me. I so easily get bronchitis and memories of my Dad taking his time to die from nicotine comes to my mind when smokers are near me.

I am sensitive to getting bronchitis myself. I make my daughter smoke outdoors. Such a nasty, dirty habit.

I have severe asthma, too, and someone smoking will get me to the ER too quickly to talk about. I can even smell it on people’s clothing when I’m in a club or restaurant.

My husband quit last year and did well for awhile. Then I started seeing signs that he had started again. He tried to hide it from me, but didn't do a good job of it. I mentioned to him that he should try to give it up again. He didn't give me a response.

Cudos to your husband. It is so hard to quit. I saw a movie in junior high school about folks who had COPD and had a hole in their throats. They were smoking through the hole. Ugh!
