When you get that call

I thought we were done. But no. Earlier this week came a call I never could’ve expected. My friend Jen didn’t sugar coat it or anything. And I can’t blame her with how shocking the news was. “Sandy is dead.” The 7th death amongst our circle in 2017. She was found by a neighbor after no one had heard from her for a few days. Unknown yet if she had a medical event and passed out or if she fell and the head trauma killed her. An autopsy is being done. She and I never resolved our drama from the summer and her insulting me behind my back. She’d said a few weeks ago she wanted to talk to me and I told her to call me but she never did. The last time we spoke was through texts, saying happy thanksgiving. I hope she’s finally found the peace she spent her life chasing after.

That is sudden and the lack of resolution in your relationship is sad. I knew I had not seen your posts in a while, but often people are just online at different times.

I think she is in good hand now. As they said, it is better to forgive than bear the grudges because of others shortcomings.
